We are Collective Hospitality.
It started with the dream of building a restaurant that we would love to dine in.
Over the spring/summer of 2015, we came together to do something we’d never done: build a restaurant from scratch.
We found a space that needed a lot of love and learned as we went. Having been built with our own hands, it’s infused with a lot of passion and care. That year The Mackenzie Room was born.
As our team grew, so did the desire to explore other dining experiences with different cuisines. 2020 brought us Say Mercy! - a marriage of Chef Sean Reeve’s love for Southern cooking and his Italian training. Eight weeks into opening our second restaurant the pandemic hit, and we had to close all our restaurants.
But instead of putting up the chairs - we got to work.
We started cooking STAFF MEAL, a city wide program that offered access to wholesome, delicious food while simultaneously infusing the Vancouver Food Bank with donations.
We cooked for our community, and in turn we were given the greatest gift - we learned that showing up when things were hard and putting community first was the truest form of hospitality.
When dining began to come back, we re-focused our efforts on putting the community first. We lobbied the city to close the road next to Say Mercy to envision a place for our neighbourhood to enjoy. We built B-Side Patio, the cutest little surf + sandwich shop, to provide a safe outdoor space for our neighbours to gather. We set up a pop-up Christmas Market in response to families feeling like they were missing outdoor activities for with kids (and lot and lots of egg nog).
With each new pivot, we found ourselves reconnecting to the roots of this industry.
Collective Goods was developed out of this discovery.
We got lucky with Collective Goods and found our roots in the cutest, most ‘well-kept secret’ neighbourhood of the city.
Executive Chef Sean Reeve filled the menu with new exciting French-ish dishes, making our neighbourhood bistro the perfect place to gather with friends and family over great food and drinks.

Hello! We are the team behind Collective Hospitality.
Chef Sean Reeve, creates the soul of each restaurant, dreaming up menus non-stop.
Next to Sean is Andrew Jameson, Director of Collective Hospitality who dreams up new projects and is the brains behind the big picture.
And on the right is Antonio Cayonne who runs day to day operations and brings the heart of hospitality to life - while occasionally making movies.
And, not pictured because she’s taking the picture, is Katie Jameson who runs our Social Media and creates the aesthetic of the brand online and irl by making sure that each space feels a little bit like home.
